Dear Madam, Sir,
Being... (owner, or tenant, or occupant) of an apartment (or house) located in ... (indicate the floor if it is a building, address, city), I contact you to inform you that Mrs. (or Sir) ... (name), tenant of your dwelling, carries out noise pollution regularly, namely ... (indicate the context of the nuisances).
I consider that, because of the frequency and nature of the nuisance, this constitutes an abnormal neighbourhood disturbance.
I have contacted your tenant several times, asking him to take the necessary measures to put an end to these disturbances. However, no changes have occurred.
I remind you that as a landlord, you are responsible for neighborhood disturbances caused by your tenant, under article 6-1 of the law of July 6, 1989 n ° 89-462.
As the situation has become unbearable, I hereby ask you to intervene without delay in order to put an end to this disorder. Otherwise, I would be obliged to engage your responsibility before the courts.
Pending the resolution of this situation, I would ask you to accept, Madam, Sir, the expression of my distinguished consideration.

Good to know
Does a noise bother you? Go see its author to inform him of the inconveniences you suffer. You can also inquire at the town hall to check if there is an order regulating the noise or activity in question (municipal by-laws may, for example, limit the use of lawnmowers). If the building is in co-ownership, it is useful to check the co-ownership by-laws that may limit or prohibit certain noises.
